Prayer Ministries

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (I Thessalonians 5:16)

Prayer is being in relationship with the One who loves us the most. Our Prayer Ministry encompasses a wide variety of ways to pray, both as individuals and as a community of faith as we seek to deepen our relationship with God in Jesus Christ our Lord.

At-Home Prayer Ministry

The team of volunteers receive an updated list each week of prayer concerns received through the church. Each person prays at home at their own convenience for each week. Requests may be submitted through the church office (210-826-3215) and are prayed over for 21 days.

Sunday Prayer Teams

Trained Prayer Ministers are available at the close of each worship service on Sunday morning to offer intercessory/healing prayers with people who make request. Anointing with oil is offered as well.

Intercessory Prayer  is a concrete expression of social concerns for other persons, communities, nations, the earth, our fellow creatures, and the needs of our world. Healing Prayer is offered as a practical application of the central tenet of Christianity – that Jesus is our Savior who desires to heal us, and does so today. Through prayers for healing, we experience the saving power and presence of Jesus Christ in body, mind, and spirit. Only Jesus Christ can heal. Those who pray are like the friends who brought the lame man to Jesus.

Call the Prayer Room (210) 826-4628

When a Prayer Minister answers your call, please give the name of the person and the request. If you desire us to send a Prayergram, you will be asked to give the appropriate address for the person(s). It is helpful for us to know whether or not the person is a member of the church or not, a Christian or not. The final information requested is the caller's address and phone number should we need to be back in touch. The Prayer Minister will end the conversation by praying with the caller for the request.

Cards can be found in a pew rack in the sanctuary. This card may be placed in special marked boxes near each of the three entrances to the sanctuary (East Wing, West Wing, and Narthex entries). It will be picked up and taken to the Prayer Room. They can also be put in the offering plate.

If you would like to volunteer in the Prayer Room, go to the ' Contact' link on the homepage.
